I've spent almost ten years working in privacy and regulatory, all in-house (currently TikTok, formerly at Dropbox). That means I've sat on the inside of organizations — working alongside engineers, product teams, and lawyers — navigating data protection laws, building compliance programs, and trying to make privacy something that actually works in practice, not just in statutes.
Background
I studied history at UC Berkeley, specializing in the former Yugoslavia and the former Soviet Union. My thesis focused on football fan violence and its role in the Yugoslav Wars. I'm drawn to that part of the world — the way states collapse and identities fracture and reform. I still read in that space when I can.
